Weekend Recap: Denton ISD, Sanger roll

It’s no longer an anomaly when the three Denton ISD schools win on the same weekend.
Ryan, Denton and Guyer each came up with big victories in last week’s action, with Guyer’s win over Rider the game that was mostly in question for much of the night.

In area play, Sanger is making everybody forget about last season’s winless campaign and continued to roll with a win over Krum, while Lake Dallas’ 11-year playoff streak was snapped.

What you need to know: McKinney

After a week of working on the fundamentals and watching other teams play, Ryan steps back onto the field to face McKinney on Friday night at 7:30 p.m.

Ryan finally plays a home game at C.H. Collins Athletic Complex after a three-game road trip to start the season, and it also happens to be homecoming for the Raiders.

Ah, yes. The first week of the season. After weeks of practice in the blistering Texas heat, the first week of the season (which for some reason is called Zero Week) is finally here.
