After last week’s win over Trophy Club Nelson, there was an overall dark cloud over the Guyer offense.
Coaches left the press box elevator after the game grumbling over the performance they’d just seen, head coach John Walsh took blame for a lackluster offensive game and blamed it on his play-calling and his preparation during the week of practice leading up to the game.
There’s no other way to put, the Wildcats’ passing game was putrid last week, as Texas pledge Jerrod Heard went just 4-for-16 through the air. But it wasn’t all bad for Heard as he rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns. Running back D.J. Breedlove added 102 yards and two scores on the ground. Fellow running back Anthony Taylor had 92 yards on 15 carries.
