Weekend Recap: Three’s Company

There’s only three weeks left in the high school football season, and after last weekend’s round of games, we still have three teams left in the playoffs.

Guyer cruised to an expected victory, while Argyle announced itself as the frontrunner for the 3A Division II state title and Ryan pulled off one of the most incredible comebacks you will ever see.

Adam Boedeker and I take a look back at those games and Liberty Christian’s loss to Fort Worth Nolan in today’s Weekend Recap.

Gilmer coach compares Ian Sadler to LaMichael James

Gilmer head coach compared Argyle WR Ian Sadler to current San Francisco 49ers RB LaMichael James. Argyle faces Gilmer in 3A DII regional semifinal this Friday.

Earlier this week, I asked both Gilmer head coach Jeff Traylor and Argyle head coach Todd Rodgers when was the last time the two coaches weren’t scouting each other.

They both guessed it’s been four to five years. So at this point, I’m sure there isn’t either coach hasn’t seen from the other team. It also means Gilmer head coach Jeff Traylor has seen plenty of footage of Argyle senior wide receiver Ian Sadler.

“I’ve watched Ian Sadler play way too many ball games,” Traylor said.

Four games to watch in Week 10

 

It’s still hard to fathom that this week is the final week of the regular season.

For everybody that isn’t a Ryan fan, your team has played nine games this season, with one more remaining on the regular season slate. We’ve got some interesting games around the area in the final week of the regular season, and we’ve also got some noteworthy contests people might want to keep their eyes on.
