According to a comment on a previous blog Lake Dallas quarterback James Franklin sent out and e-mail or Facebook post apologizing to his teammates.
I'm not sure if that is true, but after the game he looked me right in the eye and told me, "Sir, we lost the game because of me."
Sorry James, you are wrong.
I asked him why he thought that?
He said: "My ankle got hurt last week and I didn't toughen up enough tonight."
Wrong again. The kid played his heart out.
He also said Lake Dallas' last offensive play was his fault as he felt he should have led the wide receiver more.
Wrong again. Let's face it. The ball was right in the receiver's hands.
You have to respect Franklin though for saying this, though. That is what leaders do.
But Lake Dallas as a team has to be blamed for the loss. Like Michael Young told me after the game, Lake Dallas just didn't execute. And I hate to throw an "if" into the mix, but the truth is, IF Tyler Waller (torn ACL) plays in that game, Lake Dallas wins.
The breaks just didn't go Lake Dallas' way. Don't blame yourself Mr. Franklin.

thats a true rumor he posted that it was his fault
Lake Dallas had a good season.
Lake Dallas had a good season, and i know a few of the seniors on that team, and they are great kids and players. Hold your heads up high and congrats on the successes you had this season! Mr. Franklin, you lead by example of what it means to be a team player and leader, just don't bear the burden of the loss squarely on your shoulders, it is a team and you win and lose together. You are so humble you never take credit for wins so don't start taking credit for losses.
Just a shame it had to end like it did. I don't know if LD would have won a state title or anything but I promise you there too good of a team to be done so soon. Bad play calling and poor execution does the Falcons in again. Sounds familiar. Maybe one day Ld will get over the nerves of playing in the playoffs and actually play up to their potential when the games really start to count. Good season fellas. And good luck to Ryan and Guyer, yall go give em hell. And which ever won loses the rematch, go win the damn state title and make 5-4a proud.
lake dallas sucks
Awesome jobs everyone. Numbers seem to be going up and up every day and I am very much impressed. I am praying the rosary at home to end this abortion. I am going to try to get out of my fears to pray in front of an abortion clinic. It's not going to be easy.
