You guys do a great job of leaving out Little Elm. What are you afraid of? It's only 10 miles away. You'd think you might at least throw them a bone. Are you too much of a "homer" to even give them a mention? So much for fair and balanced reporting.

Doesn't Little Elm have it's own local paper covering fair and balanced reporting of Lil Elm?

I agree with TMZ. But its a lot closer than 10 miles now that the bridge is open. If you can cover LD, why not LE? Also, LE gets more coverage from the W Falls paper than the DRC. Is it going to hurt that much DRC to include the location for the LE playoff game? And yes L. Dallas has its own paper too, but nonetheless still gets coverage from the DRC.

There were not enough people in the stands when they played Guyer to even bother reporting to. Why do the Lobos not have fans? The players parents weren't even there. There were more band parents than football. They were segregated. The band parents wanted it to be clear they were there to watch the band and not the football team because they made sure and sat right next to the band, real high up in the stands. The stadium was "only 10 miles away" and nobody shows up, so NOBODY in Little Elm cares about the football team, so why should the Denton Record Chronicle? Hey, let's be honest, THEY SUCK AND IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO, WHEN ON WHERE. It will be one boring game for the opponent and then it will be done and you guys can start sucking at basketball where you probably won't get anymore coverage.

So let me get this right Dude, newspaper coverage is dictated by the number of parents/fans (but not band parents mind you) in the stands. Dude youre wacked out. I can remember a few years ago when the Guyer team could not even tie their shoes, much less play football. Yet the DRC managed to have plenty of coverage of their football "exploits". And there werent too many Guyer parents in stands, although I could'nt tell you if they were band parents or volleyball parents, or golf parents. Sorry Dude I didnt take a survey, or take note of their location in stands in relation to where the band was sitting.

Here's the official explanation: Simply put, we don't cover Little Elm. It's not in our circulation area. We sell a VERY, VERY small number of papers there, not enough to justify covering another 4A school with our limited manpower.

As for leaving them out of this, it had nothing to do with any vendetta, I simply didn't know the information. I know they play the team Lake Dallas doesn't. And to be honest, I'm not going to hold off putting the three schools we DO cover in the blog at the expense of waiting on a school we DON'T cover. Covering Little Elm is something that has been discussed at times, and might happen at one point if there's an economic turnaround.

and Dude,... why so angry at Little Elm? Last I checked, I think their losses were to playoff bound and/or ranked teams. There's a good chance they'll end district play with a 4-3 record. The 3 losses coming to ranked teams. And didn't they hold Ryan to a season low of 17 points? I'll bet Guyer is wearing the Ryan vs. Little Elm film out this week.

As far as the district all these teams are in... You may not find a tougher district in the state.

No the Dallas Morning News is not obligated to cover Denton schools but we appreciate they recognize DISD time to time but we don't take shots at their reporters suggesting they aren't fair and balanced. Nor do we have to go to DFW Varsity to get information on our schools. We are HAPPY our DENTONRC reporters takes care of our community needs so we don't have to pick at others.

umm.... maybe Little Elm would appreciate some coverage from time to time also.

The fact is, the DRC has never covered LE well, even when you did have somewhat of a circulation in the area. The HS, many years ago, used to send game information etc., but still wouldn't get anything but 1 or 2 lines in the paper. if the DRC would cover the LE area, I think they would be surprised by the readership.

As for you Dude... I am glad to see you can get on here and spout off that a bunch of 16 & 17 year old kids suck. I bet that makes you a much more impressive guy in the eyes of your friends and family. Wanna do something impressive... come stand next to me at the game, yell out that my kid sucks, then, once you get back up, you can show a little class. See you at the game.

Adam, do you cover Wi. high schools? NOPE!!! I like to read your post's, but I'm not complaining about coverage!! You do your own local high schools!! He dosn't cover WF schools, so why are you crying, LE!!! I can send you some cheese from up here in Wi. to go with your whine! You post about other 16 & 17 yrs kids, but do you realize that some of these post are from the people that play on the field on Thursday and Friday nights!!!! We can ALL talk as good game, and do nothing about it. It's the players who can talk the talk and walk the walk!!! So LEDAD becareful of who you are talking to, and about!! Some of these guy are players!!! I can see that way up here in Wi.!!

You guys need to stop harpin' on the DentonRC guys. I would like to see you guys do the workload that these guys have to do. Every time they come to the stadium they have something that needs to be done.

It makes sense that the DRC does not cover the WF schools, they are 100 miles away from Denton. LE is 15 minutes away. Its even closer when you consider that there are DISD schools (Navo) that are literally across the street from LEISD. But you would'nt know this being from Favreland.

All but 2 of the posts made today were made during school hours so I doubt your contention that "players" made the posts.

Stick to things you know something about, losing to the Vikings (twice) and icefishing. Finally, you need to calm down and quit being so angry like your buddy, The Dude. Oh, and learn how to use spell check on your user name.

I didn't say any particular individual sucked, just the team as a whole. I'm sure that's not a secret and it is probably espoused in the stands at every game. I'm just tired of hearing all the whining all year about them not covering LE.

get over it. the name of the paper is the DENTON Record Chronicle. it is not the little elm record chronicle. the paper throws some le coverage in here and there. the drc doesn't sell papers in le, thus the paper doesn't cover le. how hard is that to figure out. i would say ponder, krum, and liberty have better reason to complain.

Hey Anonymous, in case you didn't see the original post, it said "5-4A playoff sites". Last I checked, LE is part of 5-4A. That is what started the whole thing. AB "fixed" it though, so we are all happy now.

I really didn't expect any coverage from DRC. They do a great job covering Denton. I just wanted to see who would jump all over the "HATIN ON LE" bandwagon.

I have to agree with TMZ as well. 5-4A is sending 4 teams to the playoffs, not just 3. It wouldn't have hurt you, Boedeker, to at least mention LE with these other 3 team. After all, LE represents 5-4A just like these other teams. I bet if LE was undefeated and a state top 5 team, you guys would be all over them.
You say it's about economics, but did you ever think that if you guys started covering them a little more that the economics over there would get better?

Hey Dude -- These are kids. It doesn't matter how good or bad they are they still need the recognition for trying & doing their best. It amazes me you saying this -- I'd sure hate to be your kid if he / she wasn't doing well. You know whenever we're at the game it doesn't matter to me or my spouse who's team their on we ALWAYS clap to show we support what their doing.
