Halftime at Collins: Rider 14, Guyer 7

That turn of events near the end of the half was a huge misfortune for the Wildcats, but for some reason Rider wasn't calling any of its two timeouts on Guyer's final drive of the half when the Raiders could've gotten the ball around their own 40, more than likely.

It very easily could be 14-7 Guyer right now if not for missing the two wide open passes, but the Wildcats are still very much in this game and have to gain a ton of confidence from that.

I think one thing's for sure, at least 24 minutes into this game, those folks who are still questioning Guyer's legitimacy should be eating their words about now.

Follow the jump to look at some halftime stats.

Rider:
Team rushing: 10 carries, 7 yards (leader is Beaver, 2-18)
Beaver is 4-of-10 passing for 58 yards and a score. The leading receiver is Ward with 3 catches for 61 yards and the touchdown.

Beaver's injured shoulder is his nonthrowing one, so he shouldn't be too affected by it, but we'll see how he comes out in the second half.

Guyer:
Team rushing: 20 carries, 92 yards (leader is Jaimaine Wilhite, 8-40, TD)
Marquis Smith is 2-of-7 for 3 yards, had one touchdown pass dropped and another was slightly overthrown.
Luke Russell has both catches on little slip screens for three yards.

Guyer's secondary is proving its mettle so far, aside from the one long pass to Ward, even though there was decent coverage and Ward is just a man-beast.

Diminutive cornerback Josh Stewart has two broken up passes, one that was a touchdown saver and the other which would've gone for six the other way had he caught it.

Also, another note...Guyer has five first downs to Rider's four. Guyer had zero in the first quarter and Rider had zero in the second quarter.

Also, Guyer gets the ball to start the second half.
