1:45 2Q: Ouch. That hurts. Guyer just lost a 14-point swing after missing out on a touchdown. Guyer punter Evan Vazquez saw pressure and dropped the ball. He picked it up and attempted to punt it as he was hit by Rider's Mason Deerinwater, who took teh ball 48 yards for a touchdown. 1:56 2Q: Guyer should be leading right now. On 2rd-18, Matt Mose dropped a ball at the 1-yard line. On the next play, Guyer went for it and Marquis Smith slightly overthrew Luke Russell, who was wide open. 2:47 2Q: Guyer just called timeout on the Rider 30. The Wildcats aren't having any success through the air but they're running the ball fairly well. Luke Russell's in at QB again and just scampered on a QB sweep seven yards for a first down on 3rd-6. A halftime lead would do wonders for Guyer's confidence. We'll see if they can get that done. 4:55 2Q: Guyer forced a three-and-out and has the ball at its 46. 5:27 2Q: Guyer just put together a 9-play drive capped by a 4-yard touchdown run from Jaimaine Wilhite to tie the game. He had the final four plays of the drive for 32 yards on the ground. We have a tie game now. It's interesting because Rider can't run the ball at all so far. Beaver's injury was to his nonthrowing shoulder, so he should be OK. 10:02 2Q: Beaver's only pass was a laser that was dropped. An intentional grounding penalty and holding gave Rider 4th-33. Guyer has the ball at its 47. 11:48 2Q: Guyer just punted and Beaver is back on the field starting at the Raiders' 41. 0:00 1Q: We're still 7-0, Rider. Guyer is facing 3rd-15 from its 21 after 20 yards in penalties to start the drive. Luke Russell is playing quarterback right now but they'll rotate him with Smith. It appears Beaver has the pads back on and is taking some snaps. We'll see how effective he is if he comes back. 1:23 1Q: Look out. Beaver appears to be out. He's got his shirt off and his shoulder wrapped. I'm not a doctor, but still. If the Raiders can't throw the ball, they'll be in trouble because Guyer is stuffing the run. 3:43 1Q: Guyer forced the punt after knocking out Beaver. Guyer went three-and-out and is giving the ball back to the Raiders at their own 40. Beaver's staying on the bench. 7:16 1Q: Guyer tried its own flea flicker but it was just underthrown and the Wildcats committed two false starts and had to punt. Rider has the ball and Guyer linebacker Blake Terry just laid the wood on Beaver when he was running. He took a minute to get up and is headed off the field now. I'll keep you posted. Sounds like Chris Evers might take over for him behind center. 8:14 1Q: Rider pulled out the tricks on its first play from its 15 on a reverse flea flicker that went 44 yards downfield to Eric Ward. Guyer forced a 3rd-7 and Cody Marley had the sack on Beaver, but he broke the tackle and ran 13 yards for a first down. Four plays later, Rider scored on an 8-yard toss to Ward. |
