Lake Dallas and Ryan find themselves in very different positions than they were going into Friday's game. Lake Dallas has emerged as a serious 5-4A contender while Ryan has to feel sick for already dropping two district games.

Before we get into that, let me just say that the difference in Friday's game was that Lake Dallas punched it in after having a first-and-goal on its last drive of the game while Ryan settled for three. That was it. That was one of the most evenly played games across the board I've covered.

It seemed like Ryan was a step ahead in the first half while Lake Dallas picked it up in the second half, starting with that great opening drive for a touchdown.
