The Lady Wildcats are on their way home from the Canyon Tournament in wonderful, beautiful West Texas, where they saw some high-quality competition, particularly today.

Guyer opened the day against the state's top-ranked Hereford Whitefaces (yes, that's their mascot) and didn't put up much of a showing losing 25-11, 25-15. Things got better as the Lady Wildcats beat Canyon in three games and dropped a three-game nail biter to Dumas, who fans may remember from their regional semifinal battle out in Childress last year. Dumas won 24-26, 25-17, 28-26.

Many players excelled over the weekend, though after talking with head coach Jennifer Bramlett, it seems like no one excelled more than Kaylee "The Pied" Fifer and the diminutive libero Kristi Hager.

But Bramlett got two very nice surprises over the weekend...
