The Denton Lady Broncos beat Dallas Woodrow Wilson in the opening round of the Ryan Kickoff Classic on Friday, but their dreams of a Gold Bracket title came to a halt at the hands of Fort Worth Nolan Catholic.

Denton beat Lone Oak in the Diamond Bracket and will face Plano Prestonwood at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Ryan will get a chance to avenge Denton in the Gold Bracket semifinals when it plays Nolan Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Argyle will face Longview at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday in the Silver Bracket. Pilot Point plays Carrollton Ranchview at 8 a.m. Saturday in the Emerald Bracket. Lake Dallas and Aubrey meet in the Bronze Bracket at 2 p.m.

Texas Preps chimed in on District 5-4A with a preview today. Not too many surprises, but we do get a dissenting opinion on who will finish fourth.

Most of us are debating between Guyer and Lake Dallas. This preview has The Colony finishing fourth. Another good point the story makes is that the race for fourth place will greatly affect Wichita Falls Rider's state title hopes. If Lake Dallas gets in, Rider will go Division I.

The top three are to be expected: Rider, Ryan and Ole High respectively. Ryan will go Division I unless both Guyer and The Colony some how make it.
