Hunter Dozier has continued to make his ascent up the minor-league ranks before I can get my morning cup of coffee.
The Kansas City Royals announced that their 2013 first-round draft pick has been promoted to the organization’s Double-A affiliate, Northwest Arkansas (Texas League).

Last year’s eighth overall pick and Denton Bronco alumnus spent the first half of this season in High-A with the Wilmington Blue Rocks in the Carolina League. The Blue Rocks’ starting third baseman and No. 3 hitter in the lineup batted .295 with four home runs and 39 RBIs.
Dozier is fourth in the league in doubles (18) and was apparently playing well enough for the Royals to ship him to Arkansas.
If you haven’t seen the Denton native play since his days with the Broncos or saw him at Stephen F. Austin, now is your chance. The Naturals travel to Frisco next week for a three-game series that starts on June 28.
