Class 5A Division II semifinal set for Ryan-Cedar Hill winner

This weekend’s potential weather has thrown the state’s slate of high school football playoff games into great flux.

While we continue to see if this weekend’s games will go according to schedule, we know what will await the winner of Saturday’s Class 5A Division II Region I final on Saturday at Apogee Stadium.

If Ryan (10-2) can defeat Cedar Hill (11-2), the Raiders will face either Lake Travis (11-1) or A&M Consolidated (10-2) on Dec. 14 at 1:30 p.m. at Waco’s Floyd Casey Stadium, Ryan head coach Joey Florence said on Wednesday. Floyd Casey Stadium is Baylor’s home stadium.

Ryan has only played at Waco on one other occasion. It was in 2001, when the Raiders defeated Smithson Valley at Waco ISD Stadium to win the Class 4A Division I state championship.
