Lake Dallas band honors Nate Maki

The Lake Dallas-Guyer rivalry is one of Denton County’s best rivalries.

The two schools are separated by 2.9 miles, and between that space there’s a good amount of dislike between the two schools.

But last night’s installment of the Swisher Showdown produced one of the coolest moments you’ll see all season.

During its halftime performance, the Lake Dallas marching band formed a big “33,” a musical tribute to Nate Make, the Guyer student and football player killed earlier this year.

Guyer cruised to a 66-3 win over the Falcons, but the awesome tribute by the Lake Dallas band was a great gesture.
