Halftime Thoughts: Ryan 42, McKinney 0

Well, tonight’s Ryan-McKinney game is going the way people expected it to. Ryan is winning 42-0 over McKinney, and we’ve still got 20 minutes left before the second half begins.

Ryan has absolutely dominated this thing so far, in case that score doesn’t indicate that.

Ryan opened the scoring with a 48-yard pass from Mitchell Bridges to Trent Willis with 7:39 left in the first quarter.

On the ensuing drive, Paul Hunter picked off McKinney quarterback Brian Sutter. On the next play, Ryan running back Maurice Gordon scored again for Ryan with a 9-yard touchdown run, and the rout was on.

It was 28-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Ryan’s defense has allowed 81 yards in the first half, swatted a few passes and notched a few sacks. asn’t allowed a point in the last 55:51 minutes of game time. Ryan shut out Wylie East in the second half of its 37-10 win, and McKinney hasn’t been able to scratch a point tonight.

I’m guessing most of the press box will clear out at the start of the third quarter, and I assume  the fans will follow suit.On the last play of the first half, Donievin Oliver stormed through the middle of the line and sacked Sutter as the clock expired. Sutter took a few moments before he peeled himself off the turf at C.H. Collins and headed into the locker room.
