Ryan Class of 2014 defensive tackle J.T. Williams, seen here scoring against Cedar Hill in the the playoffs last year, has picked up two offers so far from North Texas and Houston. (Mike Mezuel II/For the Denton Record-Chronicle)

Despite the the carnival-like activities going around Ryan today during “Raider Day” (where was this when I was in high school?), there was some notable events that occurred today off East McKinney Street.

I confirmed with defensive coordinator David Thomas that Class of 2014 defensive tackle J.T. Williams currently has two offers from North Texas and Houston.

Williams was a key defensive tackle  for the Raiders last season. Williams had 12 tackles for loss, four sacks, two forced fumbles and one blocked field goal.

The 6-1, 282-pound tackle could receive some more offers here down the line, but it’ll be interesting to see where they come. Things could change if ends up having a big year for the Raiders next season.

UNT defensive coordinator John Skladany was at Ryan today along with an Arkansas State representative. The two men were out there watching Ryan’s Powder Puff football game.

Also, current Louisiana Tech starting quarterback Scotty Young stopped by Ryan as well. Young will finally get his shot to be the starter at the Football Bowl Subdivision level after transferring from Texas Tech. He’s also sporting a haircut, which might take a little while to get used to seeing.
