Lake Dallas’ Wingfield signs with Navarro

Lake Dallas  senior pitcher Keenan Wingfield took the next step in his baseball career when he signed with Navarro College in Corsicana on Friday.

Wingfield signed with one of the most well-known small college baseball programs in the state. From 2003 to 2008, the Bulldogs produced 19 MLB draft picks. The list includes current Baltimore Orioles first baseman and former Texas Ranger Chris Davis.

In the last two seasons, Wingfield has been one of strongest arms in Lake Dallas’ rotation. Last season Wingfield saw his number rise acrros the board.

He finished 2012 with a record of 6-3 and three saves, a 1.52 ERA and 73 strikeouts. He batted .359 last year and was a District 4-4A First-team pitching selection.
