There’s been news floating around town that’s halfway true, if that’s even possible.
Yes, this Thursday’s game at 7 p.m. between Ryan and Coppell will be on TV. No, it will not be on the Longhorn Network. It will instead be on the LHN’s step-station, Verizon FiOS 1.
That’s been confirmed by Verizon and Ryan head coach Joey Florence on Tuesday afternoon. So for those of you expecting to see Ryan play the No.4 5A team in the state on LHN on Thursday night, you’ll be tuning into Game Plan with Mack Brown, where the Longhorns’ skipper discusses his team full of underachievers on an underachieving channel.
Only Verizon FiOS customers will be able to watch the Ryan-Coppell game, so those of you with Time Warner, Charter or no cable at all will not be able to see the game on TV.
The production will be similar to the Guyer-Colleyville Heritage game earlier this season. It will be an ESPN-like crew and the game will be live, but it’s going to be on the FiOS channel. So you’ll be watching a game that has all the dressing of an ESPN telecast.
But honestly, unless you’re trapped at work or your kids won’t stop screaming or the car is lacking the gas to go to C.H. Collins, you should probably be at the game. Even though Ryan hasn’t been as good as it’s historically been, it’s been a fun team to watch.
