The Associated Press released its preseason high school football polls on Thursday, and to no one’s surprise, the Guyer Wildcats are ranked No. 1 to start the season, getting 13 first-place votes. The Wildcats are ranked ahead of Cedar Park and Tyler John Tyler as the three teams who have been pegged as favorites to win the 4A title.
Argyle, fresh off an appearance in the 3A Division II title game last season, is young and lost a lot of key contributors to last year’s team. But the Eagles are loaded with playmakers on both sides of the ball, namely guys like Ian Sadler and Sam Sizelove. Argyle enters the year ranked No. 7 in the preseason 3A poll.
