According to a press release issued on Wednesday, Ryan alumnus Kelly Kraft signed a multi-year endorsement deal with Callaway Golf.
If you’re wondering what Kraft is making on this deal, keep guessing. Callaway doesn’t release that kind of information.
Kraft will endorse Callaway’s woods, irons, wedges, golf balls, an Odyssey putter, Callaway footwear, a Callaway bag and will wear a Callaway hat.
Basically, just about everything Kraft has will be made by Callaway. And according to the press release, he’s thrilled.
“When I was planning out the end of my amateur career, I thought that deciding which equipment company to join forces with was going to be a long, arduous process,” said Kraft. “After meeting with the Callaway folks, seeing their technology firsthand and feeling how good it performed, the decision was a no brainer.
“They have also been great people to work with. I am a proud new member of the Callaway staff and hope to add to their winning legacy.”
And Nick Raffaele, Callaway’s Vice President of Global Sports Marketing is happy about Kraft joining the Callaway brand.
“Kelly has already accomplished a great deal in his impressive amateur career and we are thrilled to have him join our team of Callaway Golf staff professionals,” said Raffaele. “As Callaway gains momentum with a younger generation of golfers, Kelly is a perfect fit for our brand.
We’re confident that his talent and maturity will allow him to transition nicely into the professional game and we are excited that he’ll be accomplishing his goals with Callaway equipment.”
Callaway also sponsors the 2007 U.S. Amateur Champ and Pilot Point native Colt Knost. Kraft is the reigning U.S. Amateur Champ and missed the cut by two strokes in the Texas Open last weekend, finishing 6-over par.
