The Flower Mound head coaching vacancy left by former Flower Mound Marcus assistant Cody Vanderford is expected to be filled tonight, but Todd Rodgers won’t be following his former co-worker at Marcus.
The Argyle head coach was contacted by LISD officials and was asked to interview for the Flower Mound job after several successful seasons at Argyle including two trips to state championship games, most recently this past season when the Eagles were topped by Wimberley in the Class 3A Division II state championship game.
Rodgers granted the request and interviewed for the position but said he did so with the decision already made that he had no intentions of leaving Argyle, where he said he feels like he has a great gig that is always loaded with a wealth of talent.
So rest easy, Argyle folks, your fearless leader isn’t going anywhere and really never had any intentions of leaving.
